Dr.Akchaya completed her Ph.D in Nursing from Dr.Ambedkar Institute of Diabetology, Kilpauk, under, The Tamilnadu Dr.M.G.R Medical University, Chennai. She completed her Masters in Child Health Nursing, Vivekanandha College of Nursing, Thiruchencode, Post Basic B.Sc., Nursing from Govt.MMC, Chennai & GNM from Govt.CMC Coimbatore. She has nearly 40 years of practice as well as academic excellence in various disciplines of the Nursing field in both Government and Private sectors. She has published about 20 research papers and done presentations to her credit in National and International Journals and Conferences. She is a Ph.D guide in IGNOU and Vinayaka Institute of Medical Science and Research. Three Ph.D Scholars were awarded under her guidance. She has been very active in various professional organizations. She is a life member of TNAI, Inspector for INC, The Tamilnadu Dr.M.G.R Medical University, The Tamil Nadu Nurse and Midwives Council. She is an Examiner and Question Paper setter for, The Tamilnadu Dr.M.G.R Medical University and Vinayaka Institute of Medical Science and Research. She is an Examiner and Question Paper setter for Pondicherry university.
